Throughout the year, special events help McGuire Memorial raise funds that continue to enrich and broaden the personalized educational and care needs for every individual we serve – students at The School at McGuire Memorial; adults at our Employment Option Center; children and adults in residence on-site in McGuire’s Intermediate Care Facility; or adults living in one of McGuire Memorial's Community Homes.
St. Rose of Lima Knights of Columbus Golf Outing (7/19/2014)
A golf outing at Blackhawk Golf Course is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2014 – sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, the majority of proceeds benefits McGuire Memorial.
WMBA-WBVP “Special Ride for Special People” Motorcycle Run (8/10/2014)
This event will take place on Sunday, August 10, 2014. All net proceeds will benefit McGuire Memorial. For detailed information on how to Ride for McGuire, please contact Mark Peterson at 412-613-1789.
Music for McGuire: An Afternoon of Harmony (8/16/2014)
This new event will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2014, 12 noon to 5:00 PM. An afternoon of harmony will showcase music from the Granati Brothers and many other local favorites. Larry Richert will serve as the emcee. There will be a silent auction and many prizes for you to win! The afternoon of fun and fellowship will take place at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille, 285 Northgate Drive, Warrendale, PA 15086.
McGuire Memorial’s “Evening of Exploration” – Wine Tasting Event (9/25/2014)
Please set aside Thursday, September 25, 2014, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Morton’s ~ The Steakhouse, 625 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh. This event has been a success in the past with almost 80 attendees. All proceeds will benefit McGuire Memorial. Admission is $50 that includes a sampling of wines from around the world and Morton’s world famous heavy duty hors d’oeurves!
The First Annual KDKA “Miracles for McGuire” Telethon (9/30/2014)
Through the kindness of KDKA Radio and Television, our first telethon will take place on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 on both KDKA-TV and KDKA Radio. Details are in the works to make this potentially the single largest fundraiser in the history of the Foundation. Evening of Gratitude (11/23/2014)
The annual event at LeMont is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, November 23, 2014 beginning at 6:00 PM at the LeMont Restaurant, Grandview Avenue, Mt. Washington. This event is an integral part of our annual Special Auction for Special People as it serves as a feeder in providing a large amount of silent auction items.
The Pittsburgh Symphony Brass Ensemble (12/7/2014)
The second year for this event will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at 7:00 PM at St. James Church, Sewickley. The Holidays will be in full swing and nothing will help your Holiday spirit more than listening to the world renowned music of the Pittsburgh Symphony Brass Ensemble. All proceeds will benefit McGuire Memorial. This special evening is underwritten by and through the generosity of Sam and Judy Spanos. A reception following the performance will be underwritten by Mr. and Mrs. Clay Saftner.
McGuire Memorial’s “Evening of Cheer” (12/TBA/2014)
This annual evening of fun and holiday cheer will take place at Club Colony, Green Tree, PA on a day and time to be determined in early December, 2014.
