A team of multidisciplinary professionals assess the healthcare needs of each and every individual served by McGuire Memorial to create a comprehensive plan of care and an active treatment plan for each individual.
Residential Healthcare Services
Eighty-nine individuals who are severely and profoundly disabled, often with complex, multiple disabilities reside in McGuire’s Intermediate Care Facility for Mentally Retarded (ICF/MR). Twenty-four hour medical care is essential in the care of these medically fragile residents, and McGuire provides round-the-clock nursing care with on-staff RNs and LPNs as well as physician availability 24-hours-a-day. Other members of McGuire’s multidisciplinary team include physical, occupational, and speech therapists; dieticians; and behavior specialists. Respiratory therapists are also key members of the multidisciplinary team, for many of the residents have chronic respiratory disabilities that require the use of tracheostomies, ventilators, etc.
